Paulinka de Rochemont was born and raised in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and graduated from Amsterdam Conservancy in violin before coming to the United States to continue her violin study with Michel Samson at the University of Louisville on a full tuition scholarship and a grant from the Dutch government. After earning her Master's degree in violin performance, she was invited to join the Suzuki faculty of the preparatory department of the Music School of the University of Louisville. In 2000, Paulinka moved to Rhode Island where she currently has a full-time Suzuki violin and viola studio. She is also a freelance violinist and violist. She loves living in the woods of West Greenwich, R.I. with her husband and two dogs.
