Kathy Monroe is Musica Dolce’s principal cellist, has served as director of Musica Dolce Youth String Ensemble since its inception in 1995, and was a long-time cellist with the Rhode Island Philharmonic. A Rhode Island native, she received a B.A. in Music Education at the University of Rhode Island in 1979 and an M.A. in Cello Performance at the New England Conservatory in 1985. She has taught in public schools in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. She maintains a private studio in Westerly.
